PRK Risks
Risks of PRK Eye Surgery
PRK is a surgical procedure and as such comes with certain risks. PRK eye surgery is not guaranteed to give you perfect eyesight, and sometimes results in a worsening of vision. This is a legitimate PRK risk, but you should remember that over 90% of patients with mild myopia achieve at least 20/40 vision, and many reach 20/20 vision.
If your sight is more severely impaired, then you should expect less from PRK surgery. The risk to PRK is that it may be able to improve your vision, but not necessarily perfect it.
Some PRK risks to consider:
Slow healing time
Discomfort for a number of days after surgery
Worsening of vision
